Journeyman Welder
Various locations, Alberta and British Columbia, CANADA
Reporting to
the Supervisor, Welding, the Journeyman Welder
is responsible for the assembling, custom
welding, fabrication and repairing of equipment
parts in compliance with industry process
specifications and standards and other
organization standards while ensuring a Zero
Harm work environment – ensuring all safety
procedures, standards and best practices are
strictly met and maintained at the same time.
Essential Job Functions
- Weld, fabricate and fit pressure equipment parts with proper equipment while meeting compliancy with industry-standard ASME codes, WPS, WPDS and Quality Control Manual
- Troubleshoot, repair and modify/refit worn metal parts by welding them together with additional layers of metal
- Read, follow and translate blueprints, fabrication drawings, specifications and other instructions
- Monitor, record and report any discrepancies and issues with parts including but not limited to malfunctions or defects to the Supervisor
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship with high-level quality and accuracy
- Zero Harm Safety – work safely and maintaining safety in all areas of the organization
- Performs
all other duties as required in a safe manner
as per Supervisor instructions
Educational requirements
- Journeyman Welding Ticket or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills – reading, understanding and interpreting
- Proven ability to weld by operating equipment using expected industry processes such as SMAW, SAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW
- Valid
First Aid ticket and other HSE-related
tickets are assets
