B Pressure Welder

Various locations, Alberta, CANADA

We are seeking several experienced B pressure welders on behalf of our client. Reporting to the Welding Supervisor, the ideal candidate is responsible for the assembling, custom welding, fabrication and repairing of pressure vessels and pipes in compliance with industry process specifications and standards, and other organization standards while ensuring all safety procedures, standards and best practices are strictly met and maintained.


Essential Job Functions

  • Weld, fabricate and fit pressure vessels and piping parts with proper equipment while meeting compliancy with industry-standard ASME codes, Company's Welding Procedure Specifications and Quality Control Manual;
  • Troubleshoot, repair and modify/refit worn metal parts by welding them together with additional layers of metal;
  • Read, follow and translate blueprints, fabrication drawings, specifications and other instructions;
  • Monitor, record and report any discrepancies and issues with parts including but not limited to malfunctions or defects to the Supervisor;
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship with high-level quality and accuracy;
  • Zero Harm Safety – work safely and maintaining safety in all areas of the organization ;
  • Performs all other duties as required in a safe manner as per Supervisor instructions;

Educational requirements

  • Possession of B Pressure Welding Ticket preferred;
  • Journeyman or equivalent will be considered; however, C or B Pressure ticket must be acquired once the position begins;
  • Excellent communication skills – reading, understanding and interpreting;
  • Proven ability to weld by operating equipment using expected industry processes such as SMAW, SAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW;
  • Valid First Aid ticket and other HSE-related tickets are assets.

Work experience

  • 5+ year experience in oil & gas field service, or related industries;
  • Ability to work independently;

Skill requirement

  • Collaboration with operation team / field service / QC Department;
  • Strong experience in oil and gas and/or related industries;
  • Clear understanding of technical drawings, documentation and instruction manuals;

Working conditions

  • This is a site-based shift position.  Shift cycle will depend on the project assigned at the time the position commences.  Shift schedule to be determined.
